When updating from version 1.x to 2.x using the Envato Toolkit, you’ll notice that the theme name has changed from “Media Center” to “MediaCenter” in line with WordPress standards. Due to this alteration, the Envato Toolkit might fail to identify the theme as already installed, potentially leading to a “folder already exists” error. To prevent this, it’s recommended to manually back up all your theme files. Once the backup is complete, proceed to delete the “mediacenter” folder entirely, and then upload the new, unzipped “MediaCenter” folder. This method ensures that the folders are replaced rather than merged. In cases where you’re updating from 2.x to another 2.x version, you can use the Envato Toolkit for the update.
